Andrea Shin was born in Seoul, he began his vocal studies at Conservatoire in Hanyang, after he studied at Accademia alla Scala, Mozarteum in Salzburg and at Conservatoire in Wien.
He was awarded in many international competitions, among these Voci Verdiane in Busseto and Hans Gabor Belvedere in Wien.
At present he is part of the vocal ensemble at Theater in Karlsruhe among the roles he performed and he will perform during this season 2013/14: Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera) Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto), Alfredo (Traviata), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Don José (Carmen), Licinius (La vestale), Alfred (Fledermaus), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte).
In season 2014/15 he will perform A singer in Der Rosenkavalier, Alfredo in La traviata, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Dimitri in Boris Godunov and Rodolfo in La bohème in Karlsruhe, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly in Stuttgart, Cavaradossi in Tosca and Alfredo in Traviata in Hannover.

Nel 2018 debuts at MET in the role of Romeo in Romeo et Juliette.
2018/19: Madama Butterfly and Turandot in Dortmund; Turandot in Darmstadt.
2019/20: La forza del destino (Alvaro) at Daegu Festival, Turandot (Calaf) at St. Margarethen Festival.
As guest artist he was invited to perform Faust in Mefistofele in Mainz, Ismaele in Nabucco in Freiburg, Don Carlos in Aachen, Alfredo in Traviata in Hannover.
