After his musical studies in Lisbon he completed his musical education at the Conservatorio Pollini, Padova. He partecipated to several specialization courses in Italy and in other European countries. In 1994 he won the Prima scrittura (First Engagement) Competition Città di Firenze and was a finalist in the Belvedere Competition in Vienna.
