Izabela Matula was born in 1980 in Poland. She studied music theory and singing in Cracow.
She attended masterclasses with Teresa Berganza, Ileana Cotrubas, Lotte Lohmann and Charles Kellis.
Among the Competition she took part, the most important in the last years were Wilhelm Stenhammar International Singing Competition (3rd Prize), OperSchlossLaubach (1st Prize) and BBC Singer of the World in Cardiff.

Between 2012 and 2018 she has been in the ensemble of Theater Krefeld Mönchengladbach performing titles like Elsa/ Lohengrin, Maria/ Mazeppa, Lina/ Stiffelio, Amelia/ Un Ballo in Maschera, the title roles of Katia Kabanova and Suor Angelica, Mimì/ La Bohème, Contessa/ Le Nozze di Figaro, Donna Elvira/ Don Giovanni, Antonia/ Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Rosalinde/ Die Fledermaus, Ellen Orford/ Peter Grimes and Magda Sorel/ Consul.Recently she sung Antonia in Les contes d'Hoffmann and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Krefeld-
Also she has been Dorotka in Švanda Dudak at Teatro Massimo in Palermo.
As guest she has recently performed in Düsseldorf as Tosca, in Frankfurt as Milada in Dalibor, in Wuppertal as Luisa Miller, in Mannheim as Madama Butterfly, Linz as Eugene Onegin (Tatiana), Bonn as Tosca and as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Magdeburg as Tosca and Rusalka, in Palermo as Dorotka in Weinberger’s Švanda, Darmstadt as Tosca and to Detmold as Suor Angelica. In 2019/2020 she has performed Aida in Kiel, Leonora in Il Trovatore in Mannheim and in Linz, Leonora in La Forza del Destino in Frankfurt, the title role of Moniuszko's Halka in Warsaaw and Tamara in Rubinstein’s Demon in Nürnberg.
