Soprano Rebeka Pregelj born in 1998 recently finished her Bachelor's Degree at the Academy of Music at the University of Ljubljana in the class of Barbara Jernejčič Fürst, Mag. Art.

She began her musical studies with the flute in her hometown at the Music School of Nova Gorica. At the age of 17 she started attending singing lectures with Vladimir Čadež and Marjetka Luznik. During her studies she also attended several master classes to improve her knowledge on style and technique with professors Barbara Jernejčič Fürst, Tatjana Vasle, Pia Brodnik, Alessando Svab, Lia Serafini for Baroque music and Martha Guth, Erica Switzer in Hans Adolfsen for Lied interpretation.


She participates regularly to national and international singing competitions. She won the 1st Prize at the National Competition TEMSIG in 2019, the 1st Prize at the International Singing Competition Lav Mirski 2019 in Osijek, the 3rd Prize at the International Competition for Young Musicians in Treviso, and classified herself in the final round at the International Singing Competition Seghizzi in 2018 and 2019.

She performed the role of the Teacher at the premiere performance of the opera for children by Damjan Močnik Všeč si mi (I like you) in Cankar Centre. She participated in the project Minioperas II. where she performed the role of the Madman in the contemporary miniopera Lullaby in the room without windows of the composer Federica Lo Pinto that was presented in Budapest, Brno and Ljubljana. She performed the role of Lauretta in a production of Gianni Schicchi by Croatian Jeunesse Musicale in Grožnjan.


She prepared a solo recital for the concert cycle Music from the Saint Francis gardens in Kostanjevica. She performed on several festivals like Festival on the River Ljubljanica and the International Festival Nights in Old Ljubljana Town, International Festival of Contemporary music Kogoj’s Days and on the International Festival Cortina incanta la mente 2019 in Cortina d’Ampezzo where she performed two Vivaldi motets Nulla in mundo pax sincera and Ascende Laeta with the ensemble Super Flumina Babylonis.

As soloist she performed with several orchestras like NOVA String Chamber Orchestra, Wind Orchestra of Nova Gorica, Wind Orchestra Vogrsko and Symphonic Orchestra of the Music School Nova Gorica. She regularly collaborates with the Nova String Quartet and the Early Music Ensemble Super Flumina Babylonis.
