Shi Zong was born in Neimongol, China, in 1982. He graduated from the Odessa State A.V. Nezhdanova Musical Academy in 2007 under the guidance of Vlatimir Darasov and Stanislav Kavarevsky. After winning a scholarship from the Italian government, he studied at the Conservatorrio "Santa Cecilia" of Rome and in Milan at "Accademia Donizetti" with the great bass Bonaldo Giaiotti, baritone Gianni Maffeo and coach Leonardo Marzagalia.
In 2012 he performed Ferrando in Il trovatore at "Pandino Opera Festival" and "Cunardo Opera Festival" and in 2013 he performed Il Re and Ramfis in National Theatre of China in Beijing, Fu Zhou Opera, Shen Zhen Opera, Ning Bo Opera.
Among other roles he performed in China: Banco (Macbeth), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Zio Bonzo (Madama Butterfly), Timur (Turandot).
During the season 2014/15 he attended the Domingo Opera Studio in Valencia taking part to some productions and as cover for the roles of Oroveso and Zaccaria. Accademia Rossiniana at Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
In 2016 he will be Timur in Turandot in the Circuit Opera Lombardia, Le gouverneur in Le Comte Ory at Festival Rossini in Wildbad.
In 2016/17: Traviata (Dottore) - Erl Festspiele and in Reggio Emilia, Bergamo, Modena, Como, Pavia, Cremona and Brescia; Madama Butterfly (Zio Bonzo) and Il barbiere di Siviglia (Don Basilio) with AsLiCo; Nabucco - Como.
In 2017/18: Turandot in Oman; Lucia di Lammermoor (Raimondo) and L’italiana in Algeri (Haly) - Trieste.
