Born in Erice, graduated in piano with the highest marks cum laude from Conservatorio di Trapani, then he studied at École Normale di Parigi with M° Delle Vigne. He also studied composition and orchestral conducting with M° Teresa Procaccini and M° Pierre Colombo.

His versatile talent allowed him to start a relevant career focused on collaborations with the most important Italian and European theatres as pianist, conductor, maestro al cembalo (continuo) and artistic director. Besides the pianist career that brought him to collaborate with such great names as Massimo De Bernart, Vladimir Jurowsky, Simon Rattle, he is also a conductor.

In 2001, at Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto, he conduceted  La Prova di un’opera seria by Gnecco in tournèe in Budapest. Always in Spoleto, due to a tournée in China and Japan, he had the opportunity to work with some of the most well-known opera singers (Micaela Carosi, Massimo Giordano, Fabio Capitanucci per citarne alcuni).

In Sassari he conducted Lischen und Fitschen by Offenbach and several concerts of sacred and baroque music. In 2014 with the Festival Luglio Musicale Trapanese he conducted Barbiere di Siviglia. In 2015 he conducted Don Giovanni, performed for the first time in Trapani. IIn 2016 he conducted Lucia di Lammermoor staged by Vassilis Anastassiou. In 2017 he conducted Aida and in 2018 performed in Tunisia in the theatres of El jem and Carthage thanks to an Italian-Tunisian  co-production. At the theatre of Segesta he conducted Verdi's Requiem and Rossini's Petite messe solennelle. In November 2018 he conducted a new production of Il matrimonio segreto by Cimarosa. In March 2018 he conducted Don Giovanni at National Theatre of Belgrade and in St. Petersburg he conducted a symphonic concert with musics by Bach, Mozart e Haydn.

In 2020: Norma at Festival Luglio Musicale Trapanese and La traviata at City Hall in Hong Kong.

In 2019: Les contes d'Hoffmann with Macedonian Opera in Skopje; Orphée aux enfersOtelloLa traviataIl matrimonio segreto with Luglio Musicale Trapanese; Le nozze di Leonardo by Antonio Di Pofi with Teatro Verdi in Trieste.

In 2020: Norma with Luglio Musicale Trapanese; Messa di Gloria by Puccini at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari.

From 2009 he collaborates with Vladimir Jurowski who wanted him as  Senior Coach for the Italian Opera for a new production of Falstaff with Glyndebourne Festival and with Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome for Gianni Schicchi with Juan Pons in the title role.

From 1994 and for more than ten years, he had different tasks with Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto working as conductor, repetiteur, academic coordinator and director of young opera singers courses. Always in Spoleto, as main conductor assistant, he collaborated to many productions performed in Spoleto and in tournée in China, Japan, Poland and Hungary.

From 2009 to 2011 he has been artistic director of the Festival Luglio Musicale Trapanese.

He collaborated with some renowned opera singers for several masterclasses: Renato Bruson, Ruggero Raimondi, Raina Kabaivanska, Luis Alva, Magda Olivero, Anita Cerquetti, Natale De Carolis.

As Maestro al Cembalo (continuo) he performed in: Don Giovanni, Le Cinesi by Gluck, Il Giocatore by Cherubini, La Serva Padrona by Pergolesi, Il Mondo della luna by Haydn, Le nozze di Figaro, Cleopatra by Cimarosa.

He also collaborated with Opera Theatre of Ankara as Chef de Chant and main conductor assistant for a new production of Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci.

Due to his relevant career as opera accompanist, many well-known singers asked his collaboration in important recitals and for preparing the repertoire with him.

He is teaching at Conservatorio “L.Canepa” di Sassari” and from 2014 he is responsible of artistic planning and casting director at Festival Luglio Musicale Trapanese.
