After having met the Korean soprano Sumi Jo, Pauline Courtin started her musical studies at the Conservatory of Aix-en-Provence, her hometown. She was awarded the first prize for voice studies at the Conservatory of Marseille, while undertaking a Master’s degree in public law. Pauline Courtin continued her studies at the Conservatory di Santa Cecilia in Rome and at the CNIPAL of Marseille. Her career started with the Mozartian repertoire at the Teatro Argentina of Rome in the role of Blondchen (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), a role that she also took on with success at the Teatro del Giglio of Lucca. She performed  in the role of Despina (Cosi fan tutte) in Rome and at the Festival de Feldkirch; Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, at the Barbican Centre in London, at the Opéra de Marseille and at the Opéra de Paris; Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Festival de Saint-Céré; Blondchen at the Esplanade Opéra of Saint-Étienne.

Pauline Courtin’s artistic breakthrough occurred at the Festival International of Aix-en-Provence in the role of Eurydice (Orphée aux Enfers). She has performed under the direction of prestigious conductors such as Evelino Pido, René Jacobs, Alain Guingal, Tiziano Severini, Claude Schnitzler, Philippe Auguin, Jean Yves Ossonce, Claire Gibault, Yoel Levi, Alain Altinoglu, Lothar Zagrosek, Sylvain Cambreling.

In France, she performed Gilda (Rigoletto) at the Opéra de Bordeaux and in Antibes; Ygraine (Ariane and Barbe Bleue) at the Opéra de Nice; le Feu, la Princesse, le Rossignol (l’Enfant et les Sortilèges) at the Théâtre du Châtelet and on tour at the Opéra de Nantes, the Opéra d’Angers and the Opéra de Rennes; Le Chat (Le Luthier de Venise) from Gualtiero Dazzi at the Théâtre du Châtelet; L'Héritière de Damase at the Opéra de Marseille; La Vie parisienne at the Capitole de Toulouse; Amour (Orphée et Eurydice), Despina (Cosi fan tutte) and Blondchen (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne; Eurydice (Orphée aux Enfers)  at the Grand Théâtre de Dijon, at the Opéra de Metz, at the Opéra de Toulon, at the Opéra Royal de Versailles and at the Grand Théâtre de Provence; Sœur Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites) at the Opéra de Massy and at the Opéra d'Avignon; Micaëla (Carmen) at the Opéra de Rouen and at the Opéra de Versailles; Gabrielle in la Vie Parisienne at the Opéra de Nice; Lydia in Colomba from Jean-Claude Petit at the Opéra de Marseille.

Internationally, she performed as  Marie (les Oiseaux de Passage) by Fabio Vacchi at Teatro Comunale de Bologne; La Donna delle carte (Il Letto della storia) by Vacchi at Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino; Hansel et Gretel at the Opera of Rome, Pelleas et Mélisande at the Opera of Manaus (Brésil), Anna Reich (Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor de Nicolaï) at the Stadthalle in Bayreuth, Isabelle (L’Irato de Méhul) at the Beethoven Festival (recording from Cappriccio), the title role of Pollicino at the Teatro Vascello in Rome ; Ygraine (Ariane et Barbe Bleue) at Concertgebouw of Amsterdam; Thérèse (Les Mamelles de Tirésias) in Bangkok with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Among her concert activity: Ensemble Accentus directed by Laurence Equilbey (Le Paradis et La Péri de Schumann, Mirjams Siegesgesang de Schubert...), and the Orchestre National du Liban in Beyrouth and with the Orchestre de l’Opéra in Rouen on tour in Russia.

Lastly, she performed as  Musetta in the show Mimi – Scènes de la vie de Bohème, a production of the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, on tour in France: Théâtre impérial de Compiègne, Grand Théâtre de Reims, Grand Théâtre de Provence; the Stabat Mater of Pergolese with the Orchestre Régional de Cannes; the Fauré Requiem and Misatango from Martin Palmeri with the Chœur Régional Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur directed by Michel Piquemal Diane in Iphigénie en Tauride at the Festival of Nuremberg; Papagena in the La Flûte enchantée, at the Opéra de Nice. She has been heard with the Orchestre de Cannes, in a Viva Mozart concert, including arias from Don Giovanni, La flûte enchantée and Les Noces de Figaro, Despina in Cosi fan tutte at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne. Bubikopf in Der Kaiser von Atlantis at Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence.

Her current projects: After an interruption, she returns on stage with Despina at the Opéra de Toulon, a tour of the show, Choses vues…et chantées! and she will sing the title role of Vespetta last creation of Gualtiero Dazzi with the Ensemble 2E2M.
