Abramo Rosalen began his musical training with a degree as organist before focusing on his vocal studies. He made his operatic debut in 2002 at La Biennale di Venezia in the contemporary opera Big Bang Circus by Claudio Ambrosini, later performed at the Teatro Lirico di Trieste and the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.

Season 2025/26 engagements include Banco in Macbeth in Genoa, Aida at the Arena di Verona, and L’elisir d’amore at Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

Recent engagements include Don Pasquale at the Piccolo Festival del Friuli; Ramfis in Aida and Zaccaria in Nabucco at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; Timur in Turandot at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago and in Livorno; Colline in La Bohème at the Teatro Bellini in Catania, in Novara, and again at the Puccini Festival; Conte Walter in Luisa Miller and Padre Guardiano in La Forza del Destino at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna; Zaccaria in Nabucco and Ramfis in Aida at the Arena di Verona; Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Novara; Capellio in I Capuleti e i Montecchi in Padua; Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte in Ancona; the Ghost in Faccio’s Amleto at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona; Simon Mago in Boito’s Nerone; the Commendatore in Don Giovanni in Bologna; Turandot in Trieste (San Giusto); Alvise Badoero in La Gioconda at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari; Daland in Der fliegende Holländer at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste; his debut as Escamillo in Carmen at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa; and Ramfis in Aida at the Arena di Verona and in Hong Kong. He also returned to the Teatro Verdi di Trieste as Basilio.

At Teatro La Fenice in Venice, he debuted as the Commendatore in Don Giovanni and also appeared as Frère Laurent in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. He made his role debut as Mustafà in L’Italiana in Algeri at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, a role he then performed at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, throughout the Circuito Lombardot, at Teatro Coccia in Novara, and at Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna.

Among his most significant roles are Zaccaria (Nabucco) at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; Caronte and Plutone in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo at the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara; Oroveso in Norma at the

Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania; Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro and Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Regio di Torino; Timur in Turandot at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman; Ramfis in Aida; Padre Guardiano in La Forza del Destino; Silva in Ernani; Oroe in Semiramide; Leporello in Don Giovanni; Polifemo in Handel’s Acis and Galatea; Sparafucile in Rigoletto; Lusignano in Zaira; and Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte.

He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Daniel Oren, Zubin Mehta, Donato Renzetti, Marco Armiliato, Renato Palumbo, Andrea Battistoni, and Julian Kovatchev, and with distinguished stage directors including Beppe de Tomasi, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Hugo de Ana, Maurizio Scaparro, Henning Brockhaus, Damiano Michieletto, Mariusz Treliński, Mario Pontiggia, and Andrea Cigni.

Rosalen has appeared at Teatro alla Scala in Milan in Madama Butterfly and in La Traviata. His international engagements include Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte at the New Dubai Opera Theatre; the Four Villains in Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte with AsLiCo; Timur in Turandot at the Shanghai Opera House and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía; and Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte and Sir Giorgio in I Puritani at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste. He also sang Jacopo Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; Sparafucile in Rigoletto at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, on tour in Japan and at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; Alfonso I d’Este in Lucrezia Borgia at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste; and inaugurated the season of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires as Zaccaria in Nabucco.
