Cristian Saitta
Bass
Born in 1991 in Romania, Cristian Saitta moved to Sicily. He studied at the Conservatory of Messina and now studies with Mariano Buccino in Naples.
In 2012 partecipated at the XIX International Opera Competition Riccardo Zandonai in Riva del Garda (TN) winning a scholarship to study with Mietta Sighele.
In the same year he performs as a soloist the W.A. Mozart’s Mass in C major KV317 and he participates at the XXIX edition of the Musica Riva Festival in the Falstaff production conducted by Marco Boemi.
He took part to the XXVI Competition Iris Adami Corradetti being awarded with second prize and two scholarships: one offered by the Foundation Lucia Valentini Terrani and the other by Lyric Club in Padua.
In 2019/20: Aida (Ramfis) in Trieste, Naples and Cagliari, Madama Butterfly in Verona, Macbeth (Banco) in Trieste, Palla de’ Mozzi for the opening of the season in Cagliari. During the summer he performs Oroveso in Norma and Mozart’s Requiem with Festival Luglio Musicale Trapanese. He will debut Don Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia in Catania.
In 2018 and 2019: Don Giovanni (Commendatore) in Ravenna and Cagliari, Madama Butterfly and Tosca in Venice, Il corsaro (Giovanni) in Piacenza, Simon Boccanegra (Pietro), Rigoletto (Monterone), Un ballo in maschera (Tom) in Naples, Turandot in Padua.
In 2017 he performed Madama Butterfly (Zio Bonzo) and Aida (Re) at Macerata Opera Festival, Aida (Ramfis) with Italian Opera Academy conducted by Riccardo Muti, Rigoletto (Sparafucile) in Cagliari, Aida (Ramfis) with Opera Academy conducted by Riccardo Muti, Don Giovanni (Commendatore) in Novara.
