Swedish mezzo soprano, of greek ancestry, Katarina Giotas received her musical education at Ingesund College of Music, The Vadstena Academy, Opera studio 67 and The University College of Opera in Stockholm. She made her debut as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro at Confidencen in Stockholm. She also had great success as Cherubino at the Gothenburg Opera and Folkoperan in Stockholm. In 1999 she made her debut at The Royal Opera in Stockholm as Don Ramiro in La Finta Giardiniera.

European Opera Centre and The Malmö Opera, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at the Gothenburg

2000/2001 : Lucilla in Rossini´s "La scala di Seta" in a production by the European Opera Centre in Manchester with performances in Tatton park, Manchester, Sierre, Switzerland and at Expo 2000 Hannover, Suzuki in Puccini´s " Madama Butterfly" at the Gothenburg Opera, Lucilla in Rossini´s "La Scala di Seta" at Malmö Music theatre.
2001/2002: The title role in Bizet´s "Carmen" in Stockholm, Soundtrack recording for the BBC´s production " The Cunning Little Vixen" with Deutsches Symphonie Orchester and the European Opera Centre conducted by Kent Nagano.
